Are your earrings hypoallergenic?

Yes they are!
All stud tops that are handmade from polymer clay will have a stud post glued to the back of it. Both the stud post and silver earring back are made from rhodium which has no nickel in it. This makes it a hypoallergenic metal.
Other earrings with stud posts attached to machine made metal stud top pieces or hook and hoop earrings will be made from a variety of materials that are high grade and suitable for slightly sensitive ears but not formally classed as hypoallergenic. Each individual product listing will give you information regarding the earring posts and their suitability for sensitive ears.

I’m worried they will weigh down my ear lobes. Are they heavy?

Southern Land Creatives earrings are super light! You will barely notice you are wearing them.
One of the heaviest designs I have made to date (Double daisy dangles) each weigh the same as a 5-cent piece. You can wear SLC earrings comfortably all day, without feeling the need to take them off!

I love your earrings but I don’t know what to buy.
How do I choose?

There are several options to consider here:

1. If you are new to this earring style and don’t usually wear bigger earrings, I recommend choosing some studs and or a small pair of dangles like the classic designs. They are so light, you will forget you are wearing them (until someone compliments you!) ;)

2. Go for something neutral that you will definitely get lots of wear out of! I always have a range of black, white and pearl designs for this reason.

3. Look in your wardrobe and take note of colours you wear a lot and buy earrings to compliment them. You may wear a lot of floral dresses that have hints of sage green as well as winter knits in sage green so you could match them by buying a sage pair of earrings.

How do I store earrings and keep them clean?

Whilst those beautiful open earring display stands look like a great idea, it is best to store your earrings in a jewellery drawer away from moisture and dust.
I have a set of bamboo document drawers from Kmart that I lay my earrings in.
A polishing cloth is great to use on the metal hardware every couple of months as it removes dirt and encourages shine.
If makeup or dirt marks are on your clay pieces, a baby wipe or clean damp cloth works wonders! Be gentle with paint or transfer pattern earrings and be sure to avoid wetting the metal components.

Do you gift wrap?

I sure do!
Packaging is something I take pride in so every order is packed beautifully enough to gift, however, if you wish to go that extra step, there are gift wrapping options available in gift cards and wrapping. All wrapping paper is designed and printed in Australia.

Do you take custom orders?

I love creating pieces that are custom to your needs. I only create based off inspiration and ideas that you give me. I will not accept an image to directly replicate the work of other makers. Let’s make something that hasn’t been done before!

Do you take wholesale orders?

Yes I do. I have a whole product catalogue that suitable registered business owners are welcome to look at. I regularly supply earrings to fashion and clothing boutiques as well as gift stores. Please reach out via email at southernlandcreatives@outlook.com and I can assess your suitability and discuss wholesale options.

I have a question that isn’t here. May I email you?

Please do, I love talking handmade earrings and answering queries!
